Greetings, Woolie Families,
We hope you are all happy to be back after a few snowy days! We are on to the next big thing and that is... Course Selection! We are happy to share that the Program of Studies for the 2026-2027 school year will go live on the School Counseling Website on Friday, Jan. 30th. The Program of Studies rollout starts our course selection process. Students should be able to see teacher recommendations using their portal access.
Our introduction to course selection will start with the Class of 2027 on Monday, February 2, 2026. Each grade will have a week to choose courses in the Aspen portal after having access to their own Aspen account to see what they were recommended for by their teachers. See below for the schedule. We ask that students check their school email accounts on a regular basis for updates. We also encourage parents/guardians to have a discussion with their child(ren) about their future goals when considering which courses to take.
For current grade 9-11 students, they will meet with their current counselor. All grade 8 students will meet with a counselor, but it may not be their counselor for next year, as we all assist in the course selection process. We look forward to meeting with the students and answering any questions that you or they may have!
The mission of the Millbury Public Schools Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive program that will assist all students in acquiring skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to become effective students, responsible citizens, productive workers and lifelong learners. The school counseling program addresses academic, career, and personal/social needs of all students and is committed to supporting every individual's unique abilities and to valuing their diversity.
We believe all students have worth and should be given opportunities to learn skills and strategies so they may become productive and well-adjusted members of the community. Opportunities for students should address their needs and be provided in a caring, supportive environment as an integral part of the total school experience.
This is the document we share with the colleges and universities our students apply to each year. It is updated with the previous class information including college acceptances.
